Also forgot to mention there were some 2 tone schemes

Series 1 had a blue on silver design
Series 2 had a red on silver

I don't believe Australia recieved a black on gold design

Thanks for the info but it looks like Desert Yellow, as far as the key suggests was not on the 280ZX. So sorry, no bowing today  ;D
I do like the midnight blue metallic

Yes, the softcover book, in white, with a small picture of the 280zx in the middle!!

Been gone for 7 years now!

Becoming a book stalker now! Hqs anyone on here seen one of these, it was a Nissan publication, able to be bought in motoring bookshops, mid 1980's?

I got a couple of other Z books in tje collection, and no, not lending for another 7 years,,,,
"A 40 year history of the Z sports car in Australia" by John M Wright PhD
"Lust then love - the story of the new Z" by Ron Sessions
"the complete Datsun guide" Michael Hollander printed early 1980's
And "Petersons The complete Datsun" also early 1980's
All have various bits of info, specs and pics on the ZX's
I just race old datsuns:
Group S Historic 280Z ( not a zx but a USA 280z)
Group O/T Historic Datsun Sports 2000
Group G Datsun 120y  with FJ24 fitted( ex G. Fury)
Marque Sports Datsun Fairlady 1966 -SR20DET

Hi

The series 1 Australian brochure doesn't have colour schemes, the series 2 does but even it does not list all the colours.
I've attached series 2 colour scheme and youll see that some colours are missing there. You car being a 2 seater must be a japanese fairlady and the colours for these cars are as follows:

1979

807 Red
650 Yellow- which must be yours
805 White
891 Black metallic
304 Gold metallic
603 Red Wine Metallic
306 Silver Metallic

1980
Same as 1979 except following additions:

893 Silver over blue metallic

1981
Same as 1979 & 1980 but with the following additions:

720 Dark grey metallic - hardtop only
084 - Silver over black metallic

The yellow colour (I assume you have the lime yellow colour) was introduced in Japan in August 1978 and was available as a 2 seater hardtop. I have also seen that colour on a 1973 240z.
